That can't be right .......?

Can that POSSIBLY be right? I have not posted on this blog since March last year? How can that be right? Surely not.

So here are a few of the cards I've made between then and now. And lastly, a tropical card that 'cannot be right' ... Actually, I think I'll do a separate post on the card that cannot be right, as I have some ideas for how to fix things with that one!

A birthday card for a dear friend ...
Cards for my vet

Using sand and shells found on my beaches ... I don't often use Distress Inks for stamping sentiments, but liked it here.

I love this seahorse stamp. I have many seahorses, both individual stamps and stamps in sets, but this is my favourite by Impression Obsession (D1325). A couple of the ones I have look downright angry, but this one has a beautiful blend of delicacy and poignancy that always tends to remind me of the fragility of life, and just how much we as humans, hold in our hands.

Again using beach found items and again, using a Distress Inks background.

I like this little guy heat embossed in gold, silver and copper. In this card I've used a combination of shells etc I've found myself, and tiny pieces of seaglass from a Canadian seller, Mike Baran. For anyone interested, he has a FB page ~ Cape Breton Seaglass.

A photo card I've put into my Etsy shop.

Another set I've put into my Etsy shop. All of these have been done on watercolour backgrounds (Thank you Tim Holtz and Ranger for the Distress Inks ~ they have certainly revolutionised the world of cardmaking.)

This is one of a set of mixed cards I gave my mum-in-law. She's a very active 90-year-old, but who needs a trip out just to buy a card, when you have a daughter-in-law who doesn't know what to do with all the cards she makes?

When I make cards for my husband I make three ~ one from me and one from each of my kids. This one is using a photo of a car he'd just bought himself.

A motorcycle rider for about 45 years, I try to incorporate at least one motorcycle. This was an image I found on the internet and printed off on light card. The heat embossing was done in copper.

The inside! I wish I'd had my Stampmaster tool back then! I could have restamped the flags.

Yes, if he gets another bike to add to the six in our garage, it will be an old Indian.

This was a set of cards I made for a charity auction. Proceeds went to Australia for Dolphins, a group working to end the 'dolphins-are-here-to-entertain-humans' philosophy that currently seems to exist in the world.

Now, this is a card I'm especially proud of ~ however the idea is not mine. I found it on the internet and traced it to a wonderful blog called 'Miriam's Delirium'.  I rarely copy other people's cards or ideas ... I like working something from the background up, but this card was so PERFECT for my daughter's 21st, that I hope Miriam will not mind.
The paper from Graphic 45 is just marvellous! So many gorgeous images .. the colours are beautiful, and there are so many features that are just so incredible! I've bought a little of this issue, and look forward to making more cards with it.
I did hate cutting it though!

A lot of fussy cutting with this box-card, but I had a tiny magpie just come into care, and I thought at that time I would lose her, so I sat with her for company and quietly did the cutting for this card. Her story is on my FB page if anyone wanted to see her progression.

Die cut grasses and extending the fussy-cut images of the birds to include a few of the large-leafed plants gave this card a really full, richly green look.

My card in the foreground, and Miriam's card on the screen. Thank you again Miriam's Delirium for this sensational idea.

Happy 21st Adriana ~ 29.11.1995. A wonderful day indeed.

Christmas cards for overseas ... digital images bought from Becky's Place. I hope she'll make some of them into a set.

Cards I made for the wonderful ladies in my card group. I loved this image, so made all the cards using this, but watercoloured the backgrounds differently for each using a combination of painting using Distress Inks and shading in from the edges using the same.

A beautiful mermaid stamp. I must stop buying new stamps and use the ones I have! I've only ever bought stamps I really love, and have used them not nearly often enough. Sigh! I wish there were 48 hours in every day.

I love this! I love this image, which is from the Stampin' Up set 'From Land to Sea'.
I don't buy much from Stampin' Up ... I think they're grossly overpriced both with their stamps and their dies. But this set is stunning.
This was for my son's 23rd birthday.

Well ... that's been my ten missing months! I will try to be better at this. Blogs are time consuming, and not being an expert at anything means I don't feel in the least bit qualified to sit and do tutorials or offer advice, but they do provide a great record for personal purposes of what a person has been doing and making.
